Where Dreams Take Center Stage

Our Mission

ROE Theater Club began with a parent volunteer's belief in the power of the arts — that every child deserves a meaningful place to perform, belong, and be celebrated. That passion for arts education is the heart of everything we do.

ROE Theater Club inspires confidence, creativity, and community through high-quality theatrical arts education for children. We provide inclusive opportunities for young performers to develop communication, collaboration, leadership, and artistic skills while bringing families together through live theater experiences.

From first-time performers to seasoned young actors, we are committed to creating a welcoming environment where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and shine on stage.

Who We Are

ROE Theater Club is a Houston-based nonprofit children's theater company dedicated to making the performing arts accessible to every child. During the school year, we proudly serve the students of River Oaks Elementary right on campus, and we welcome young performers from across the community to our seasonal camps. From first-time performers to budding triple-threats, we create a welcoming space where young people discover what they're capable of — on stage and off.

Meet Our Founder

Tara Stringer is a proud River Oaks Elementary mom of three and the founder of ROE Theater Club. Her love of theater began early — growing up near Washington, D.C., she was captivated by train rides to New York to see Broadway shows, and she still treasures her very first Playbill from Cats. That spark for the arts never faded, and she's watched it grow in her own children through their years of musical theater, acting, singing, and dance. All three of her children have grown up at River Oaks Elementary, discovering their own love of performing along the way.

After more than a year of dreaming and planning — and with the kind partnership of our principal, school administration, and ROE parent community — Tara created ROE Theater Club to share that magic with her school community. Her deepest hope is simple: to give every child a platform to discover their voice, build confidence, and feel the thrill of performing in front of an audience that's cheering them on.

More Than a Theater Club

ROE Theater Club runs as a nonprofit organization. Your tuition and support directly fund accessible theater education for River Oaks Elementary School Youth — helping us keep the stage open to every child.
